Tom graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 and began his career in golf course design at Jack Nicklaus Design Services. It was here that he gained valuable experience in golf course planning and design as he worked on projects throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
Between 1993 and 2004 Tom was a Design Associate for Dick Bailey Design. Working with Dick Bailey provided Tom with the opportunity to assist in the design and development of several high quality projects including collaborating with Jay Morrish on The Golf Club Scottsdale. This exclusively private club in Scottsdale, Arizona was recently voted seventh best new private golf club by Golf Digest magazine.
In addition to The Golf Club Scottsdale, Tom's skills were also utilized in the development of the award winning Whitehawk Ranch (located in the northern California Sierras). Golf Digest voted this course the eighteenth best golf course in California. A prestigious award bearing in mind more than 800 courses were considered. Tom also worked on The Powder Horn in Sheridan Wyoming. This course is a true test of golf, often compared to Scotland's link courses. Golf Digest rated the The Powder Horn the second best course in Wyoming.
